We always pass by Sakae Sushi whenever we go to SM Mall of Asia. We stop there not to look at the food but to look at the Japanese restaurant’s company logo we call “The Lucky Frog”. My daughter likes to look at the frog so we always stop to look at it.

The food sure looks yummy with the conveyor belts containing sushis are around the place. We’ve always wanted to eat there but had the chance only on my birthday because we are sure it would be expensive. The price for the plates varies depending on their colors. Purple sushi plates cost 39pesos, yellow plates cost 59pesos, green costs 79pesos and 99pesos for the red plates. They also offer Sushi-All-You-Can for 349pesos from 2pm to 6pm.

My husband tried the Sushi-All-You-Can while I tried their Gyuniku Ramen and Beef Yakiniku with Rice since I’m not fond of raw tunas and salmons and I thought those were the only food being served on the conveyor belt. My orders are good for two persons so we had to bring home the left overs. It was really yummy and cheaper than we thought. The next time we eat there again, I will also try their Sushi-All-You-Can since I saw that they also serve lots of Tempuras, Gyozas, Corn Sushi, Ebi Fried Cheese Crepe and Soft Shell Crab Cheese Maki.

This is my favorite food for breakfast. I always eat a lot whenever this is served as our breakfast meal though one egg is enough for me.

These are the street food I missed eating. I used to eat this with my friends where we were still in college. I wish I can eat them again. I don’t know why the food is better when bought outside. Even the sauce, I can’t seem to make one like that. Oh well, maybe dusts and pollution added some flavor to it, LOL.

photo from manilafoodtrip.com

The picture above is called “tukneneng” or “kwek kwek”. It’s quail egg covered with flour in orange food color. There is a bigger version that instead of a quail egg, a duck egg is used. I prefer quail egg that duck egg though.

photo from www.western-asian.com

This is a squid ball. I like this more than “kikiam”. The last time I ate this was when I was till working on a shifting schedule with another company. I can’t dare eat it again due to a bad experience and I would blame it on my work schedule, hehehe. There’s a vendor near our office that sells squid balls at night. I order four pieces and was about to put the sauce. I don’t know what I was thinking that time since I put the water where the soup ladle is placed and I though it was vinegar. I just realized I put that when i eat the squid and it was not sour. Ever since I didn’t eat squid balls, but I think I am willing to eat one again.

photo from www.filipinodesserts.net

This is a chicken intestine or “isaw” in Filipino. This is really yummy maybe because of the dirt that was still inside the intestine? The best one I’ve tasted was the one in UP Diliman. If only it’s near our place I would surely eat once a week.

Oh well, good thing there are no vendors selling these kind of street food to where we live since for sure, I would buy one everyday.
